Business processes are the backbone of value creation in companies. In modern companies, the execution of almost all process steps is supported by IT and documented via data traces. Process mining technology uses this data to improve processes, for example by measuring the performance of processes. This supports analysts and managers in the redesign of processes; in practice, however, it is often not possible to actually improve the processes. With this in mind, our new research project PräMi is developing a toolbox for prescriptive process mining, which recommends next steps to a case handler during business process execution. Siemens Healthineers can use PräMi to execute logistics and service processes more efficiently and Software AG can use it to develop a technology-based business model, creating additional leverage for many Bavarian customers. PräMi is funded by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.
