The international panel held within the DESRIST 2017, discussed the practical contributions of design science research for digital innovation. We have contributed CrowdStrom as an example of a successful innovation in collaborative research projects.

The panel moderated by Professor Alan Hevner (University of South Florida) began with the assumption that design science research could open up a pragmatic perspective on digital innovation, that can help address current theoretical advances to digital innovation “down to earth”.

The following colleagues presented their own applied research initiatives as examples and discussion basis:

  • Samit Chatterjee, Claremont Graduate University
  • Shirley Gregor, Australian National University
  • Matthew Mullarkey, University of South Florida

The main contents of the discussion panel will be summarized in a short article, which will soon be published as part of a special research article of the Journal of Service Research Management. The DESRIST conference brings together design-oriented researchers in the information system discipline. The DESRIST 2017 took place in Karlsruhe from 30.Mai till 1.June
