The Faculty of Business, Economics, and Law at FAU presented the 2025 Ingeborg Esenwein-Rothe Award. This annual award recognises the outstanding academic achievements of female doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, candidates for habilitation and junior professors. Named after Ingeborg Esenwein-Rothe, who was the first female economist and professor at FAU, the award includes €2,500 of research funding for each recipient.

This year, both awards went to researchers from the Institute of Information Systems: Sophie Kuhlemann was honoured for her research on digital decision-making and the user-centred design of digital systems, and Prof. Dr. Sandra Zilker received the award for her work on explainable artificial intelligence and human–AI interaction. This recognition highlights the excellent research in Information Systems at FAU once again.
